The Optimal Solution for 8-Meter ZCNEST–Reach AMRs Revolutionize High-Rack Storage Efficiency

In today's complex market competition landscape, the intelligent upgrading of warehousing has become a critical component for enhancing competitiveness. Particularly for high-rack scenarios, while taller racks significantly improve space utilization, they also introduce challenges such as low operational efficiency and high manual risks. Addressing these pain points, ZCNEST reach AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots) deliver breakthroughs in height, efficiency, and safety.

1/ Project Challenges

1.The 3,000㎡ warehouse involves multi-step processes (e.g., goods acceptance, shelving, outbound, and verification), with numerous storage locations, leading to inefficiencies in traditional manual operations.

2.AMR are required to automate picking and shelving, minimizing human intervention in the facility.

3.With racks reaching nearly 8 meters, manual handling poses significant risks, prompting the client to prioritize risk mitigation.

2/ Project Implementation

Based on the site conditions and client requirements, the reach AMR was selected for the project, with a maximum lifting height of 8.5 meters, perfectly meeting the needs. The system was integrated with the RCS (Robot Control System) scheduling system, seamlessly connecting with the WMS (Warehouse Management System) to enable full-area information flow, efficient operations, and cost reduction for the enterprise.

Process Optimization:

1.After manual unloading at the dock, goods, pallets, and storage locations are bound via the WMS, with goods temporarily stored in the transfer area.

2.Photoelectric sensors in the transfer area trigger picking tasks. The AMR reads storage location information via scanners and executes picking tasks efficiently and accurately.

3.The AMR provides real-time feedback upon task completion, with all information managed and monitored by the upper-level system.

In the optimized process, the AMR autonomously determines task starting points and statuses, while target points are assigned by the WMS. The AMR completes shelving tasks efficiently and accurately, enabling multi-vehicle collaboration and 24*7 uninterrupted operation.

In the warehouse area, the reach AMR fully replaces manual operations. The AMR is equipped with multiple safety protection systems, including safety lasers and mechanical anti-collision features. For high-altitude and heavy-load handling, an anti-tipping design is incorporated. The system also includes automatic pallet shape recognition and a fork side-shifting mechanism, ensuring high-efficiency picking and unloading while maximizing safety for goods and the warehouse, eliminating potential hazards.

3/ Project Value

1.Enhanced Safety:

High-altitude operational risks are entirely managed by the AMR, avoiding risks associated with human-robot crossover operations. Multiple protection systems ensure safety.

2.Optimized Efficiency and Costs:

The warehouse area requires no manual intervention, reducing labor costs. The AMR automatically identifies task statuses and executes efficiently, operating 24/7.

3.Precise Information Management:

The WMS and RCS connect information flows between every process, ensuring consistency in warehousing data and enabling precise management.
